Kare Plus is proud to announce it will go pink today to support Breast Cancer Now and its Wear It Pink initiative! Each year, participants across the UK wear pink to raise money, the money raised will go towards life-saving breast cancer research and care in addition to supporting those affected by breast cancer.

Breast Cancer Now is the United Kingdom’s biggest breast cancer charity, having formed in 2015. The charity has invested over £243 million in breast cancer research. They are currently funding 80 cutting-edge projects worth just over £29 million to discover how they can not only prevent breast cancer but save lives and help people to live well with and beyond the disease. As a charity one of their main goals is to ensure that by 2050 everyone diagnosed with breast cancer will live through with early detection methods and successful treatment.

Wear it Pink is especially important during a pandemic, as cancer patients have had an even more strenuous journey than usual this year, because of the stringent measures put in place throughout the year regarding COVID 19. Never mind the stress that comes with having cancer during a pandemic, as those living with breast cancer are far more susceptible to illnesses.

At Kare Plus Head Office we are taking part in the fundraising, with all members of the office and those working from home Wearing It Pink! In addition to Wearing It Pink, we will be playing multiple fun games provided by the charity including an office raffle! This fundraising effort will of course involve social distancing measures, with members of the team following government guidelines in and around the office. Each member of the team has kindly donated to support Breast Cancer Now, which will go towards the amazing work they do, supporting the research of breast cancer and those who are affected by it.

Fundraising is a vital part of supporting Breast Cancer Now, but awareness is equally vital in the fight against breast cancer. Being able to check for lumps or other abnormalities can literally save lives, which is why it is vital that we remind one another to check regularly.
