No matter where you are working as a nurse, revalidation must be undertaken every three years. At Kare Plus Redbridge and across the Kare Plus network, we are here to support you every step of the way to ensure a stress-free revalidation.

What is Revalidation?

Nurse revalidation is a process which allows nurses and midwives to keep their registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC). As part of this process nurses and midwives are required to meet a range of requirements to show they are actively keeping up to date with maintaining their ability to practise safely and effectively.

How does Kare Plus Redbridge help?

Kare Plus works with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) to raise awareness of the nurse revalidation process to our employees.

We approach revalidation on an individual basis to ensure the necessary support is available to allow all nurses to complete their revalidation. Kare Plus nurses have access to a clinical lead and confirmers who are on hand to make the process as simple as possible.

We also provide our nurses with a revalidation pack which has all the required documents needed to keep a record during the revalidation process including a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) log template, reflective discussion templates and also templates to provide practice related feedback. To help with the CPD, Kare Plus nurses are encouraged to continually develop new skills as well as maintaining the skills already learnt. Our branch managers will organise training courses where necessary to help develop skills to progress in your role.

During the last 12 months of the three-year revalidation process, nurses are expected to obtain confirmation they have met the revalidation requirements. This involves a face-to-face discussion with a confirmer to talk through how you have met all of the requirements. Where possible your confirmer should be your line manager, however for nurses who don’t have a line manager, Kare Plus has several confirmers nurses can ask to assist them in the final stages of the revalidation process.
