It can be difficult to know which of the many care providers to work for, so what sets Kare Plus apart from an employee standpoint? We asked Becky, a Care Worker that joined our team during the pandemic, what she thought of her experience working with Kare Plus.

How is Kare Plus different from the rest? What are Becky's three tips for new Care Workers joining this company? Why should you become an employee with Kare Plus? Find out the answers below!

Becky’s point of view!

Becky has worked at Kare Plus for a little over a year, providing care and support to our service users, giving peace of mind to many loving families. She started at Kare Plus during the most turbulent period of the Covid-19 pandemic, meaning many customers were stuck at home and unable to see family members.

Becky felt lucky to be the point of human contact for many service users, with their families also being very thankful that someone could be there to check up on their loved ones in person. Fortunately,  we have come out of that strange time and regular contact with family members is viable. Since then, Becky has been able to provide some end of life care to several of our service users.

The thought of end-of-life-care can be quite daunting for a lot of home carers, but there is no reason to feel that way! “It was really nice to see how much the families appreciated our work once their loved one had moved on,” Becky said, “I’ve had loads of cards from people.” Being there to ease people’s pain at a point that not many of us know how to deal with, she was able to make a tangible difference in people’s lives.

We put the care in Homecare!

Some care providers can feel just like any other business, putting number of customers first and quality of care second.

We asked why is Kare Plus different? “(Kare plus) are really customer focussed. We’re always making sure they’re in the best condition possible”. Obviously, it can be very difficult for individuals and their family when a loved one’s health deteriorates. We enjoy giving you the knowledge and ability to make our customers as happy, relaxed, and comfortable as possible.

But it doesn’t stop at caring for the customers. We care about YOU!

“Managers are always very supportive,” Becky informed us. “There’s always someone at the end of the phone”. It’s quick and easy to contact people in the office wherever you are. It can be a great relief to know that a well-connected office can make any unexpected events much easier to deal with. Whether you have an unfortunate travel problem or need more medical assistance at a customer’s home, having a supportive network of people only a phone call away means you are never alone on the job.

Some ending advice from Becky!

Becky’s three tips for new starters at Kare Plus are “Enjoy it, be there for the clients and don’t be afraid to approach anyone for guidance and support”. For a service user and a potential employee, these tips can be reassuring to hear.
