Children's Residential Support Worker

At Kare Plus we are looking for enthusiastic and reliable Children's Residential Support Worker with a minimum of six months experience in the last five years to be put forward for an exciting permanent position. Kare Plus are delighted to be in partnership with a local Children's Residential service provider who have multiple award-winning homes throughout the Northeast and surrounding. You will be responsible in playing a role in the establishment, maintenance and development of the environment and providing young people with a calm and relaxed group living experience conducive to emotional security and personal happiness and growth. Shift patterns vary between days nights and sleeps.

The Role: As a Children's Residential Support Worker, you will work within a team to support the needs of each child. It is your role to provide a supporting, caring, and safe environment for all children and young people in their homes:

• Support and encourage in educational development. • Assist in addressing health needs and promote a healthy lifestyle.

• Manage care in the home, by guidance and de-escalation and positive support.

• Plan and deliver activities for young people both internal and external.

• Facilitate and encourage contact between children and young people and their families and the local communities.

• Assist in the social, emotional, and physical development of all children.

• Manage challenging behaviour as a team/lone working.

• Help adopt a positive outlook on life.

You will need:

• Minimum 3 months experience in Learning Disabilities / EBD

• Minimum 6 months experience is essential within children's residential support or similar

• Level 3 Children's and Young people qualification • MAPA Training (desirable)

• Knowledge of Learning disabilities in young children and adults as well as EBD understanding

• Excellent communication skills.

• Hold full Driving Licence.

• Adaptable, approachable, and friendly manner.

• Ability to work using own initiative and as part of a team.

• DBS preferably on Update Service as this role is start ASAP however new Enhanced check can be done

• Be able to work across shifts including long days, early shifts or late shifts.
