So I’ve been on a fixed price energy tariff for 2 years, with power at 8.5p/kWh ($0.11/kWh), which is roughly normal

Renewing now though, and prices are more like 13-14p/kWH ($0.18-0.20/kWh)

Profitability is basically zero at that point. Is mining on regular energy costs in the UK dead? Or am I just getting silly prices for some reason?

Obviously I exclude those who can mine on free power, which will always be profitable. But right now my cards are looking at $5/month profit, which doesn’t seem worth wearing out the fans for.

I would not say that mining in the UK is dead, but now this process has become much more difficult, primarily due to the rise in electricity prices. But don’t despair, try switch pal
Here you can find yourself an excellent electricity supplier, whose tariffs will suit you and you can continue to mine crypto.
