Summer Newsletter: Here Comes the Sun

Summer has welcomed us this quarter with the weather never deciding what it wants to do from the sweltering heat to the torrential downpour, classic British summer. When the days are warmer, please remember to drink lots of fluids and if you want to enjoy the sun when it does pay us a visit, a healthy dose of sunblock will be your best friend.

In COVID-19 news, the success of the vaccine roll-out means that majority of us have had our first and second vaccinations. To manage the spread of the virus, the UK government recommends testing twice weekly, even if you are vaccinated. With new changes and the potential of Step 4 of the road map going through, it seems that as a country we will have to learn to live with COVID. Step 4 will see the removal of the social distancing guidelines as well as the removal of the legal requirement to wear masks in any certain settings. Step 4 will also see the removal of the rule of six, as well as lift the cap on care home visitor numbers so that family can spend quality time together again.

In our little Derby office, we are all working hard to ensure all your needs are being met and going above and beyond to ensure we provide the highest standards of care.  There are always plans in motion to improve our services and one way we are doing this is by partnering with Birdie, a new homecare software solution to provide even more personalized care to all our users. All staff and service users will be notified of this when this is happening.

Another way we are improving our services is by building up our staff members with recruitment and the hiring of our new care coordinator who will be introduced to you all soon. We also have been providing trainee opportunities to those who want to begin their career in care as well as providing opportunities to those affected by COVID to gain work experience.

We send our thanks and sincere gratitude to all our customers who have continued to put their trust in us to provide high quality care for themselves and loved ones. Thank you for choosing us and allowing us to be a part of your lives. A big and special thanks also goes out to all our carers who continue to work hard and being dedicated to their work to really make a difference in everyone’s lives. Though some of the restrictions are being lifted, it is important to be safe. Vigilance is key. The standards by which we have been living for the last 12 months are still the standards we need to ensure in terms of good hygiene practice to protect ourselves, our loved ones, colleagues, and families.
