With 2022 in full swing, there’s never been a better time to find a new career. Whether you’re in full-time work, or you’re currently unemployed, this is the perfect time to change things up and find a career you truly care about.

With care homes and healthcare establishments across the country now under more pressure than ever before, there are countless roles and positions available to those with and without experience in healthcare.

Who are Kare Plus?

Kare Plus is a national healthcare franchise with businesses across the country. Each individual Kare Plus business works with local healthcare establishments by providing suitable staff to help care and support for customers. Kare Plus supports a wide range of customers and needs across the country, which is why our businesses are always on the lookout for passionate and dedicated healthcare staff.

So, how do you get started?

To get started, you simply need to contact your local Kare Plus business. You can use our locator to find your closest business, which should give you everything you need to get started, including both a location, contact number and email, along with the available vacancies.

Once you have spoken to a member of the Kare Plus team, you will then receive an email containing all the application forms via a link. This enables you to fill out our forms quickly and easily on your chosen digital device.

With your closest business found, it’s time to fill out an online application form which will be sent to you via email. Filling out the application form is a simple process that gives our team the necessary information to figure out if you are a suitable candidate for Kare Plus.

After you’ve completed the application form, and should you meet the requirements for the role applied for, we will contact you regarding your virtual interview, due to the pandemic, all of our interviews are conducted over the internet. Depending on which Kare Plus business you’re applying to, you’ll likely have the interview over a platform like Zoom.

One (hopefully successful) interview later, it’s time to contact your references - our team will take care of that part though. It’s also around this time that we will need to contact the DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service). If you have experience in healthcare, it’s likely you’ll already be on the DBS update service, so you won’t need to do anything.

If you are new to healthcare, you’ll need to pay for a DBS check. This is a standard process that involves a background check on your criminal record to ensure you are safe to work around vulnerable people. It’s commonplace across several careers, so don’t be alarmed.

With everything sent off and cleared, it’s time to begin your career in healthcare with training. Training is a vital aspect of working in healthcare, as regular training ensures you are able to provide the best quality of care to our customers. The initial set of training involves seven mandatory modules, although you can pick other training modules further down the line as well for career progression.

Now training is finished, our team will need to process and create your badge, and with that it’s time for your staff induction and to book you onto your first shift!

Wondering if you have what it takes?

Healthcare isn’t for everyone. It’s a demanding role that brings with it a myriad of highs and lows, but it is one of the most rewarding careers a person can choose. You will help bring positive change to people on a day-to-day basis, just by doing your job.

There is no perfect fit for what a healthcare professional should be, there are some great characteristics which will make you a perfect fit for the role. At Kare Plus, we look for individuals who are; reliable, dedicated, empathetic, kind, patient, humorous and willing to go the extra mile. Above all else, Kare Plus is looking for individuals who care about others and who want to make a positive difference in their local community.
