The pride of working in healthcare over Christmas

Monday, December 17th, 2018 | Uncategorized

As a person working in any profession that requires you to work over Christmas, the rest of the world thank you. Helping people who are in need is one of the most rewarding things that we can do and working as a carer over the festive season is one of the most selfless.

We always hear of the emergency services including firefighters and the police who continue to provide vital services at Christmas, and we want to add healthcare workers to that list of amazing people who put others before themselves. This time of year, is especially important to come together and appreciate those around us.

If you don’t work in this sector, it can be easy to forget the people who work hard at this time of the year. In reality, care is needed as much on the 25th December, as it is on any other day of the year. Everyone deserves to celebrate this special day, no matter their circumstances.

A homecarer visiting on their normal round, that just happens to be on Christmas day, might be the only person that someone sees for the whole day. This visit will resonate with the client, and they are likely to be thrilled that they got to see somebody. Christmas day can be a lonely day for many, but it doesn’t have to be.

We often talk about us and our colleagues being like a family, and this family is even more important in the run up to Christmas, and on the day itself. Of course, it will be tough for carers to spend Christmas day away from their families. We thank you for being a part of the community, caring and helping to take care of those who need and appreciate it on this special day. You may just make their day even more special.

So, whatever you are doing this Christmas, be happy and be safe. If you’re working this Christmas – thank you. And if not, try and get the rest you’ve all earned from a long year of supporting your community.

Kare Plus want to say a huge thank you to all of our healthcare workers who work tirelessly and will continue to do so over Christmas. If you would like to join our team and continue to help those in need, contact your local branch today: https://www.kareplus.co.uk/branches/
