Kare Plus Directors, Tom and Steve with award winner, Angie MasonWith a firm belief a manager “is only as good as her team” and a “passion for everybody’s right to live in their own home”, it’s no surprise Kare Plus employee, Angie Mason was crowned the West Midlands Registered Care Manager of the Year on Friday evening at the regional Great British Care Awards.

Surrounded by her Kare Plus West Midlands colleagues, Angie won the award at a glamorous ceremony at Birmingham’s ICC and, as a result, has now been automatically nominated for the national awards.

With over 20 years experience in the care industry, Angie doesn’t just look after the carers at Kare Plus West Midlands, she always goes the extra mile to stay in touch with her clients too, making sure she’s always a friendly face for them to turn to whenever times are hard or they have questions to ask.

Despite this, Angie insists it’s a team award: “If it wasn’t for the carers working so hard, this would never have happened. It’s a real team effort; they’re available 24/7, so it’s only right I make sure I’m always available too.”

Now Angie has an anxious wait for the Great British Care Awards next Spring at Grosvenor House, London, to find out if she earns the title of National Care Manager. All of us here at Kare Plus have our fingers crossed and wish her all the best.

Kare Plus West Midlands Supported Living Team Leader, Shiela (pictured centre) was also was nominated for the Home Care Worker award. Although she did win on the night, she is still a cherished winner to Kare Plus West Midlands and all the lives she enhances each day.
