Are you an experienced Support Worker or Healthcare Assistant?  We are currently recruiting for one of our clients who operate a number of supported facilities in the Ottershaw / Chertsey area.  Their residences range from smaller 5/6 bed homes to larger facilities housing up to 12 service users.  All residents are adults with learning disabilities, some also have physical disabilities. 

A variety of shifts are available, with start and end times varying by home.  Generally these range from earlies (6.30am-2pm  / 7.30am-4pm), lates (1.30pm-8pm / 2.30pm-10pm), waking nights (9pm-7am), and sleep ins (11pm-7am).  Whether you are looking for one or two shifts per week, or to work 5 or more shifts per week, we will work with you to find shifts that meet your needs. 

 

What you’ll be doing

As a Support Worker with Kare Plus, your focus will be on providing the highest quality service at all times.  You will deliver hands-on person-centred care at our client’s residential homes, including:

  • Assisting residents with a range of personal care tasks, which will include supporting them with dressing, assisting with their meals throughout the day and managing their personal hygiene needs
  • Assisting residents with limited mobility, including the use of a hoist
  • Assisting residents with visual impairments
  • Preparation and supervision of meals, including for some residents with a choking risk
  • Supporting with decision making, community engagement, trips out and other activities
  • Working with the care team to ensure that the shift runs smoothly and efficiently
  • Supporting residents to maintain their dignity and independence in a way that fits not only their care needs, but also their personal preferences

Opportunities are also available with other learning disabilities residences and care homes in the surrounding areas.

Who we’re looking for:

To become a Support Worker with Kare Plus, you will need at least 3 months’ experience as a Support Worker or Healthcare Assistant within the last 5 years in the UK. 

Prior experience working with learning disabilities would be preferred.
