About Us:

We are Kare Plus Romford, a leading provider healthcare services in Havering. Joining us as a live-in care assistant means you will receive training and support from a local team who are here for you, so that you can make a real difference to others. We offer a variety of rota patterns, so that if you are looking for block booking work or more flexible work, we will have an option that suits you.

We genuinely believe that care is one of the most amazing things you can provide for another person. Care is making sure their tea is made just as they like it. Care is taking the time to sit and listen. Care is making the effort to go the extra mile. Care is providing people with peace, comfort and happiness in their own home.

The Role:

As a Carer, you will be care matched with your client where you will be supporting them in and around their own home in Havering. We offer full care certificate training, support and a genuine career pathway to help you fulfil your potential as a Care Assistant.

For our carers, live-in care means that they only work in one household. Looking after one client or at times a couple. You will be committed, respectful, reliable, honest and trustworthy. Our carers need to be willing to work for a minimum of two weeks at time.

A typical day would be:

  • Helping your client get washed and dressed in the morning
  • Doing some housework
  • Managing medical conditions such as dementia, stroke and incontinence
  • Cooking, cleaning and ensuring the smooth running of the house
  • Supporting and assisting with all personal care requirements
  • Providing companionship and supportive listening
  • Observing and reporting any changes in the health or status of the patient
  • Maintaining patient’s health equipment
  • Responding to emergency situations
  • Prompting and administering medication
  • Accompanying and transporting patients to appointments and/or social events
  • Providing support with hobbies, studies, and social activities

What we look for:

  • Either minimum 6 months’ professional care experience such as live-in carer, domiciliary carer, care assistant, support worker, healthcare assistant or similar
  • A driver’s licence is an advantage but not a requirement, we have clients who live in areas where driving is an advantage.
  • You must be flexible to travel to your client placement, mainly in Havering Borough (travel expenses covered)
  • Must have the ‘Right to Work in the UK’ status and DBS will be required.
  • A caring, empathetic and compassionate nature, dedication, commitment and reliability, good written and spoken communication skills including fluency in English.
  • Our people are the reason we are able to deliver the very highest standards of care. If you have experience of providing care, either in a professional capacity as a care assistant, live in carer or similar; or, recent experience of providing personal care to a loved one or a friend, we'd love to hear from you.
  • You might be a carer already, may have cared for a family member or friend or have worked for a care agency before. Well provide you with completely free, carer on-line training, which will set you up to be the best carer you can possibly be. After being carefully matched with a customer, then you’ll be ready to go and make a huge difference to someone’s life.

 Benefits include:

  • Free Induction Training and online modules
  • Flexible rotation patterns to suit your availability (typically 2-4 weeks rotation on/off).
  • Between £550 and £600 per week (paid weekly in arrears)
  • Free accommodation and food while you’re living in a customer’s home on placement.
  • Ongoing dedicated care and support from us, as your local office based in Hornchurch.
  • Up to 28 days of paid holiday a year, plus pension contributions.
  • Free PPE for the role requirements

COVID-19 considerations:Live-in care means working in one household. Our carers are, in effect, isolating themselves with their clients for the duration of their rotas, minimising their exposure to COVID-19. PPE and full training (including infection control) is provided.
